Michael and I have been married for almost 6 years now, and this is the first year that we have had a real Christmas tree. Since our new house has higher ceilings than any other house we've lived in, our old fake tree we normally use would look very strange and small in this house. I'd forgotten how much I love the smell of real trees until going to pick ours out this year. Once bringing it home, we started to put lights on it, only to realize we didn't have enough lights to cover the whole tree. After going back to the store for more lights and putting them on the tree, we put the new decorations on it. In the past, we have only used blue and silver balls and decorations on the tree and around the house. However, this year we decided to do red and gold balls on the tree. It looks really good. I absolutely love decorating, especially at Christmas time!
